Too Much “Bull” in This Week’s Post :0)

Posted on 09 November 2007 by jeff

A few days ago, Kit, Josh, and Teri (my loyal team) run into my office… out of breath… and tell me to get up and come downstairs with them. Kit grabs the video camera, Josh grabs our audio gear… and we take off.

We all pile into the elevator and I have no clue what this is about as we descend 46 floors to the ground level. We get out of the elevator… and I’m trying to keep up with them as they push through the doors and out onto the street in downtown Dallas, Texas.

Across the street, I see what all of the excitement is about.

Cows.

Okay, not just “cows”. LONGHORNS!

To promote an upcoming rodeo in Dallas, they’ve brought an entire herd of longhorns and dumped them downtown, in a big pen. Then, after about an hour, they open the gates - and the longhorns take off - and they have a mini-”cattle drive” down the streets of Dallas.

It was very cool to see: These longhorns, clomping down the streets, under the shadows of the huge office buildings, followed by the cowboys on their horses.

Of course, my staff couldn’t just let this opportunity go by - without filming me in front of these cows.

Now, to be honest, I had no idea what to say, having been rushed out of the office on such short notice. And for some reason, standing in front of these cows, all I could think of was bad bovine-related puns.

“You’ll get no bull from me.”

“I won’t steer you wrong.”

“It’s time to get moooo-ving…”

My team kept frowning. Or cracking up, depending on what the cows behind me were doing. Finally, though, we got some good footage for this week’s blog post taken - and they spliced it in with video of the entire longhorn cattle drive.

So enjoy. It’s short, to the point, and a little weird. But hey, we’re having fun! :0)

Have a great weekend!

Best,
Jeff

P.S. If you have any comments about this video, please click the link to leave them below. If you like the longhorn cows in the background, I may be forced to tell my staff “Good Job”. If not, well… tell me that, too.
